Terms and disclaimer
Draft: not yet approved. This page is being reviewed and may change before Kampass is released.
Last updated: draft of 20 October 2026
By using the Kampass app or website you agree to these terms. Please read them: they’re short.
AI can be wrong
Translations, summaries, deadlines, steps and answers in Kampass are written by AI. They can be wrong or incomplete: a date, a fee, a room, a required document or the meaning of a sentence may be missed or misread. Kampass is a helper for understanding a notice, not a replacement for reading it.
For anything important, always confirm the details with the office that issued the notice (for example the International Students Office, your college or department, or the police station for residence permits) before you act, pay or miss a deadline.
Not official advice
Kampass is an independent app made to help students. It is not official university, government or legal advice, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or run by Xi’an Jiaotong University or any other university or government office.
Scholarship posts are reviewed by a person when they are published, but rules and deadlines change. Each scholarship post shows when it was last checked and links to the original notice: the original always wins. In Community, posts and comments are written by students and by the Kampass team, from their own experience; no AI writes them. Rules differ between universities and years, so treat them as help, not as official answers.
Community
- Anyone can read Community. Posting, commenting, voting and reporting need an account. What you post is public and shown under the display name and colour you choose, never your email address.
- You are responsible for what you post. Only post what is true to your experience and yours to share. Be kind. Don’t post anyone’s private details (phone, passport or ID numbers, addresses), insults, ads, offers of paid services or anything illegal. Kampass refuses some of these automatically.
- A new account’s first two posts or comments are checked by the Kampass team before they appear. The team doesn’t change what you write, but may hide or delete any post or comment that breaks these rules, and may stop an account from posting.
- By posting, you let Kampass show what you wrote in the app and on the website. You can edit or delete your own posts and comments at any time. A deleted post that already has comments is replaced by “[deleted]”, so the answers stay. If you delete your account, your posts and comments stay without your name: delete them first if you want them gone.
Who Kampass is for
Kampass is meant for university students and isn’t directed at children.
Fair use
Kampass is free, and every decode and translation costs us money for the AI. To keep it free for everyone:
- There are daily limits per device (or per account while you are signed in) and for the whole service. Each AI feature uses a few credits from a daily allowance (for example a notice decode uses 3 and a translation 1), and one notice decode a day is free even when your credits are used up. Requests that fail or time out never use credits. Credits and limits reset at midnight China time (UTC+8). When a limit is reached, Kampass tells you when it resets; what you were working on is kept. The amounts may change.
- Use Kampass for your own notices and messages. Don’t use it for automated or bulk requests, to resell answers, or to try to break or overload the service.
- Only send content you’re allowed to share, and nothing illegal.
We may slow down or block use that breaks these rules.
No guarantees
Kampass is provided “as is”, without any guarantee that it is accurate, complete or always available. As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for losses caused by relying on Kampass’s translations or explanations, by a missed deadline, or by the service being unavailable. Keep your own copy of anything important: what you save in Kampass lives only on your device and is gone if you clear the app’s data or lose the phone (unless you exported a backup).
Changes
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top, and for important changes we’ll show a note in the app.
